Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility (DEIA) is a framework for establishing institutions where every person can thrive & belongs, as it addresses systemic barriers that have historically been prohibiting communities that have been marginalized. The following explains the components of DEIA:
Diversity - Secures representation among those who are qualified. This spans across sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, race, religion, disability, socioeconomic status, age, shared ancestry, military status, parental status, and more. Given this, institutions should reflect the nation’s communities that they serve.
